Things That I Love (To Buy) … Urban Decay Makeup

Welcome to a new feature on my blog — Things That I Love (To Buy)!  This is where I get to tell you about my favorite products, stores, and great new finds.  At first I thought this would be a little self-indulgent, but then again, isn’t the whole idea of a blog kind of self-indulgent?  Anyway, I hope that I’m able to share some helpful, useful information.

Urban Decay Basics

I know that Urban Decay makeup has been around for awhile now, but I always assumed the line was for edgy, trendy people who liked to wear crazy, extreme colors.  However, not too long ago, I became aware that Urban Decay is completely vegan and adamantly opposed to animal testing.  Even PETA gives them a thumbs up.  This piqued my interested, so I moseyed on down to Ulta Beauty to check out the line. Low and behold, in addition to their signature vibrant hues, they also have a great collection of muted and natural tones.  I ended up buying a fairly decent amount of items, and I have to say, I’m hooked!  Not only does the company stand for something positive, but I seriously love the products!  Here is the lowdown on what I bought and recommend:

Eye ShadowNaked Basics – a  palette of six shades of eyeshadow in neutrals and browns.  There is a shade for every occasion in this box.  I wear these almost every day.

Eye Pencil -24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in “Demolition”.  This slides on incredibly smoothly with barely any effort at all.  A nice, rich color.

Lip Pencil – 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in “Naked“.  The color goes on creamy enough to color in lips in lieu of lipstick.

Lip Gloss – Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in “Flushed”.  I LOVE this lip gloss — it is probably the best lip gloss I’ve ever used.  It stays on much longer than other glosses, and it lives up to its name as a lip plumper.  In conjunction with the lip pencil, my lips look about 15 years younger with this stuff!

PrimerPore Perfecting Complexion Primer.  I believe the intention of this is smooth out your skin to wear under foundation, however, I have been wearing it alone, without foundation.  It is slightly tinted and beatifully evens out skin tone providing a totally natural look.
